Marco Polo Davao is 2009 Hotel of the Year

Marco Polo Davao has been awarded the prestigious “Hotel of the Year” award for 2009. Competing against nine sister hotels in Cebu, Hong Kong and mainland China, the award recognizes outstanding service and high achievement across a range of company performance benchmarks.

The hotel’s customer satisfaction surveys consistently rate above all other hotels in the group, cementing its position as the crown jewel of Mindanao’s hotel industry.

Marco Polo Hotels President Steve Kleinschmidt commended Marco Polo Davao in his speech. “As we all know, we measure each hotel on the basis of many indicators such as guest satisfaction, financial achievements, and marketing strategies, to name a few. Marco Polo Davao demonstrated exceptional performance and commitment in their service and operations.”

The award was presented on the 27th of September at the General Managers’ Conference held at Marco Polo Plaza Cebu.

Marco Polo Davao General Manager Nigel Fisher, former General Manager Stanley Lau, Halifax Davao Hotel Inc. Senior Vice-President Francis Ledesma and wife Jocelyn were present that evening to receive the prestigious award.

“Marco Polo Davao happily reclaims the award, having garnered it also in 2007,” GM Fisher said. “We have been honored as well with the Best GOP Preservation Award, having been a strong survivor in the midst of economic crises,” Fisher added.
